depends what you consider "good swords"
if you're just after mods than weapon crafters will be your best bet.
if you're after skins than it depends on which skins you like...

Well if you want a good sword that works for you a lower requirement, as well as the option to be inscribed with an inscription is best. So pretty much any "Required: 9 swordsmanship" Inscribable, max (15-22) damage, sword will be your best bet.

Now, depending on the sword's skin (what it looks like) the price can range from anywhere from about 2k (Greater Sage Blades and/or other over-farmed gold items), all the way to 100K + 1750 ectos (q8 insc~ Crystalline Swords)

Max damage 15^50 collector sword: Free
Vamp sword hilt: Roughly 2k
+29/+30 health pommel: roughly 1k/few k.

You can get the generally 'best' sword in the game for only a few k. It only gets expensive when you add in skins, rarity (gold, purp, etc), requirement, etc.

As for the skin, I don't know what you want so you'll have to choose yourself.

EDIT: You could just buy a green sword if you want. The stats are perfect and they're cheap but you can't choose the skin or dye them.

It also depends on what skin you like as well I like Falchions as most don't.Forget the greens and go for a collectors sword and mod it or cheap max purple and mod it.

Check out wiki for pictures of all the swords in the game, this will give you an idea of what to look for. You can then check out the Guru price check or current listings in the Sell/High End threads to get a feel for the price range of the items your interested in.

i've seen this a lot so i hav to ask
why do people always offer 100k and a #amount of ectos? y cant they just sell the ectos and say 250k? or is ecto also a currency now?

You cannot have more than 100k in your inventory at one time, thus cannot trade more than 100k, people use ecto instead of money.

Just craft one until you get a little farther into the game. It takes time to get the coolest looking gear.
